Both spots share the same address at 2956 Roosevelt Street, which makes this an easy double stop whether you are starting your morning with coffee or wrapping up an afternoon with something sweet.
Revolution Roasters
Revolution Roasters is the kind of coffee shop that feels like it belongs in Carlsbad Village. The outdoor seating pulls in locals, there are usually dogs around, and the whole place has a relaxed energy that fits the neighborhood perfectly. It is not trying to be anything it is not, and that is exactly what makes it work.
The Maple Latte is the order here. Smooth, well-balanced, and just the right amount of sweetness without being heavy. It is a 10 out of 10 and a consistent go-to every time we are in the Village. Revolution also roasts their own beans, running a range from light Ethiopian to medium Mexican to espresso blends, so the quality in the cup reflects actual care about the craft.
Open daily from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, it is an easy first stop before anything else on your Carlsbad morning.
Stella Jean's Ice Cream
Stella Jean's earns its lines. And yes, the lines can get long, but they move and it is worth it. The flavors here are unlike anything you will find at a standard ice cream shop. Filipino-inspired, rotating seasonally, and made with real intention. Ube Pandesal, Mango Sticky Rice, Yuzu Poppyseed Cake. These are not flavors you find anywhere else in North County.
The Milk and Cookies is the personal favorite and an easy recommendation for anyone stopping in for the first time. Rich, familiar, and somehow still surprising. The homemade waffle cone is also worth the upgrade if you have not tried it.
Open Monday through Thursday from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Friday through Sunday from 11:00 AM to 9:30 PM.
